The Night River Boat is a serene yet thrilling experience in Taman Negara Pahang. Cruise along the Tembeling River under a canopy of stars, using powerful spotlights to catch the gleaming eyes of nocturnal animals resting or hunting along the riverbanks, such as wild boars, monitor lizards, owls, and perhaps even elusive big cats.

Tour Itinerary & Timeline

Assemble at the main jetty area. Our licensed guide will provide an overview of safety protocols, fit your life jackets, and brief you on what unique species you might spot grazing by the river tonight.

Step into the motorized longboat and begin your silent glide along the Tembeling River. The guide will use a powerful searchlight to scan the riverbanks. Look out for:

  • Wild boars foraging by the water
  • Monitor lizards resting on branches
  • Owls and other night birds
  • Water snakes and amphibians

Cruise back up the river as you take in the majestic starry sky above the rainforest canopy. The tour concludes back at the Kuala Tahan Jetty.

  • Life Jackets are Mandatory: Please wear the provided life jackets at all times on the boat for your safety.
  • Stay Seated: Do not stand up abruptly in the longboat to maintain balance during the cruise.
  • No Flash Photography: Only use flashes if explicitly permitted by the guide, as it can blind and scare away wildlife.
  • Stay Quiet: Keep voices low to avoid scaring away the nocturnal wildlife along the banks.
